About the Sessions

I never thought I would be an entrepreneur. I grew up in a small town and, as-such, had small town goals - go to a local college, get a job, get married, climb the corporate ladder, have a family, retire. I never felt suffocated by these ideas, I just never knew there was anything else. It wasn't until I studied abroad and stepped out of my comfort zone that other opportunities even occurred to me. While I didn't start a business until a few years later, I've realized that traveling has taught me so much and equipped me with the knowledge and confidence to start a business. In both travel and entrepreneurship, you have to take a leap of faith, you're faced with countless unknowns, you have to be flexible and you cannot give up. Taking that leap is daunting and you often feel like there's a million things to do before you're "ready" to jump. I want to inspire other women to become entrepreneurs, show them that they have what it takes and help them find the courage to jump.

A woman’s self-talk is her most powerful influence. It can lift her up or bring her to her knees, sometimes within minutes. Once women learn to master their self-talk, they become more productive, confident, motivated and happier—moving themselves towards personal and professional success.
This program teaches women to evaluate their internal language and its impact on their decision-making, attitude and success. The effect of our internal language, even of small words, can greatly influence our mindsets, which in turn influences our plans and their outcomes. Redefining our self-talk to reflect where we want to be is an essential component of entrepreneurial success.
By examining our internal monologues with intention, we can make small changes that yield lasting results, helping us to balance, let go, and conquer fear when necessary. Done with a healthy dose of humor and wisdom, this session will engage, entertain, and empower attendees!

At 24 I chose a business loan over a college loan and many people thought I was crazy! Fifteen years later my little store has been one of the top 10 planet Smoothie's in the country for every year for 15 years. I get to be a stay at home mom and pursue other passions. Like traveling across the country in a camper with my family for 2 months and getting to write a book!! I know that each person is designed for a purpose and you won't find it doing "what everyone else is doing"! Bucks County Community College gave me the freedom to see what I enjoyed, what I was good at and not so good at, which enabled me to find a career I love!! I believe everyone, no matter your age should LOVE what you do but you need to think outside the box!
